What brought Alan Veingrad from super bowl champion to observant Jew?

On Tuesday evening, June 15, 2010  a wonderful event was held at the Riverdale Jewish Center on behalf of  Chamah,  hosted by  our very dear long standing friends, Mr. and Mrs. Otto and Ina Pretsfelder.

Our esteemed International Chairman, Mr. Mitchell Benerofe introduced the honored guest for the evening,  former professional football player and 1992 Super Bowl XXVII champion,  Mr. Alan Veingrad who came from Florida to join us for this special evening.

Mr. Veingrad,  a motivational and electrifying speaker,  shared his remarkable and incredible journey from his years as the only Jewish player on the Dallas Cowboys,  to today, living as an observant Jew in South  Florida.

A video was shown  about the work of Chamah in Russia, Israel and the United States which Mr. Veingrad found very moving. He said that it is this kind of compassion that  Chamah gives our brethren in Russia, Israel and the United States that drew him closer to Judaism.

In gratitude, Rabbi Moshiach Chudaitov, Executive V.P. of Chamah, presented Mr. and Mrs. Pretsfelder with a beautiful Humanitarian Award for their many years of friendship and untiring efforts on behalf of Chamah.

Our guests were treated to a lovely dessert reception and a wonderful evening was had by all.
